a word that describes me

Dictionary.coms' defintion of laid back: (1)relaxed or unhurried (2)free from stress; easy going; carefree

My definition of laid back: someone who is easy going, easy to hang around with and someone who doesn't concern themselves with too much of lifes' drama.

I added a picture of Santorini because it definately looks like a place I can lay back in.

TODAY IN MATH

So my math class is Geometry and we learned theorems eleven one and theorem eleven two. Theorem eleven one is the polygon interior angle theorem which says the measure of the interior angle of a convex n-gon is (n-2) times one hundred eighty. The corollary is the measure of each interior angle of a regular n-gon is (n-2) times one hundred eighty divided by n. Basically what you do is the book gives you how many sides there are in the polygon (n) and you just substitute that number for n.

Now theorem eleven two is the polygon exterior angle theorem which says the measures of the exterior angles of a convex polygon, one angle at each vertex is three hundred sixty degrees. Its' corollary is: the measures of each exterior angle of a regular n-gon is three hundred sixty divided by n. To sum it the book gives you a number of sides (n) and you substitute that number for n. For example if the number of sides is fifteen you divide three hundred sixty by fifteen and what ever the anser is then, that's how many degrees it is.

TODAY IN HISTORY

This week in world history we learned about the Muslim empires, just the Ottoman and Mogul. in 1453 the Ottoman Turks conquered Constantinople and made it the capital of their new empire. The Ottomans' government was successful because of their military, the Suttan was head of it. His sons' struggled for their fathers' position. In their society there were the peasants, artisas, merchants and pastoral pepole and the women had rights elsewhere.

The Mongul empire was in India. Babur founds the dynasty and captured Delhi and land in north India. Now Akbar had heavy artillery to "control" rivals, the empire of semi-independant states, they were Muslim with religious tolerance, had fair and efficient tax system and had a very prosperous foreign trade. Shan Jahan was another leader and had a failure to deal with prolems at home, the country and subjects were very much poverty. One thing he was known for was the infamous Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal was built in Agra, India as a memorial for his wife Mumtaz who died and thirty nine while givinge birth to the fourteenth child . Together it took about twenty ears and twenty thousand ment to complete it. The entire building is of white marble with surfaces decorated with calligraphy, geometric patterns, inlaid jewles and floral mosaics. In todays dollars it would take three hundred million dollars.

The Black Cat

"The moodiness of my usual temper increased to hatred of all things and of all mankind while the sudden, frequent and ungovernable outbursts of my fury to which I blindly abandoned myself, my uncomplaining wife, alas! was the mot usual and most patient of sufferers" page fourteen. I believe this line fit well with this story, mainly because it foreshadows what was to happen to his wife. It also shows his temper, which occurs repeatedly throughout the story. Yet at the same time is showed his guilt for treating his wife poorly. The quote also represented the fact that his wife was a very gentle woman and gave you a picture of her innocence. It also foreshadows what may occur out of his temper.

"But my disease grew upon me-for what disease is like alcohol!-and at length even Pluto, who was now becoming old and consequently somewhat peevish-even Pluto began to experience the effects of my ill temper" page ten. I think this line fit well on giving you a description of what this man appeared like emotionally, since he is a drinker, it automatically sets a picture in your head. Although he was in the 1800s so he tried to hide his drinking, since that was the custom back then. My mental picture of hm is a man who seems kind but at the same time you can tell he is hiding something. Emotionally speaking, he is always tempted to do something wrong and there is a constant struggle for control of his emotions. Definitely what motivates him to kill the cat was the alcohol. The drinks gave him angry moods which caused him to be irritable which set him off on the cat.

Casting the characters would be kind of easy. To play the main character, I would probably cast Johnny Depp. To me he fits into these kind of characters that have something to hide and at the same time very tormented. I thought of him because his character of Sweeny Todd reminds me of this story. To cast his wife i would find someone who portrays innocence. Maybe Keira Knightley because she fits into that time era well. To play the cat? I would just go to the shelter and pick up a black cat.
